Frequently Asked Questions
Is online tutoring as effective as in-home tutoring?
For most students from about middle school upward, yes. The instruction is identical — same tutors, same 1:1 format, same curriculum alignment. Younger students and students who struggle to stay on task without someone physically present usually do better in home sessions, and we’ll tell you honestly which we’d recommend after the assessment.
How long is an online tutoring session?
Sessions typically run 60 minutes, though we schedule 45-minute and 90-minute sessions depending on the student’s age, attention span and what we’re working on. Test-prep sessions closer to an exam date are often longer.
Can we switch between online and in-home tutoring?
Yes, and plenty of families do. Some use in-home sessions as the weekly standard and add short online sessions before a test. Others start in person and move online once the student has built confidence. Your tutor stays the same either way.
